On Friday morning, the Muslim community of Oporto gathered in the garden of the Trindade metro station to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the ceremony that marks the end of Ramadan. About 3 thousand people participated in the prayer, which for the second consecutive year took place in a very central point of the city of Oporto.

The president of the Muslim community of Oporto, Abdul Manga, is a great friend of the Jewish Community of Oporto, the Diocese and other religious organizations in the city and surroundings.

In Lisbon, the ceremony took place in the square Martim Moniz, with thousands of people. A week ago, the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, participated in the Iftar ceremony, the breaking of the daily fast, at the Central Mosque of Lisbon.
