A high-level meeting of the Jewish diaspora is currently taking place until tomorrow in Jerusalem. The J-50 Forum, an initiative founded by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar—establishes continuous, direct contact channels between the Israeli government and worldwide Jewish leadership.
Leaders such as Dan Mariaschin, Evan Bernstein (B'nai B'rith, Washington, D.C.), alongside leadership from the B'nai B'rith World Center in Jerusalem Chairman Haim Katz and Director Alan Schneider, Richard Robertson (B'nai B'rith Canada, Director of Research and Advocacy), and David Hai Nataf (B'nai B'rith Portugal, Vice President) are present in Jerusalem to safeguard and develop diaspora-Israel relations.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs' J-50 Forum brings together leaders from 50 major global Jewish communities and umbrella organizations to coordinate policy, combat antisemitism, and align public diplomacy. B'nai B'rith International was founded in 1843, more than a century before the modern State of Israel was established. It maintains a global presence and is the core leader in defending Jewish human rights. In Portugal, it operates jointly with the locally based Human Rights Observatory.
