Mariaschin is concluding a landmark tenure of nearly 40 years with B’nai B’rith marking the end of a professional career defined by service to the Jewish community and by global diplomacy.
After years of attacks on Zionism, two human rights organizations recognize the unique global significance of Israel’s Declaration of Independence.
The hope was replaced in subsequent years by Jewish resilience and the defense of Jewish human rights.
On September 1st, the Jewish Community of Oporto celebrated the European Day of Jewish Culture.
The programme included visits to Kadoorie Synagogue, the Holocaust Museum and the Jewish Museum of Oporto.
