In April 2020, Portugal operated under a historic constitutional State of Emergency, which was explicitly renewed twice during the month to legally enforce strict lockdown measures across the country. "Terror with the coronavirus? No. It's another flu, and poorly explained in its origin. Scientific consensus? No, what exists is political consensus to further corrupt civilization. Masks? No. The celebration of Purim is only for next year. Vaccines? No. Let them test them on rats first, not on us." This was the policy followed in the Community.

In a notable Times of Israel interview published on 18 March 2020, Dr. Eidelman predicted much of what is known today, so many years later. Relying on early, incomplete data, he projected that final global COVID-19 fatalities might end up similar than the seasonal flu, arguing that rapid-spreading epidemics often feature lower overall mortality rates. He explicitly acknowledged that the virus's mortality rate at the time was "between two and four percent of those who are infected", as always.

Dr. Eidelman argued that draconian, airtight lockdowns would cause massive, irreversible economic harm. He warned that a collapsed economy would ultimately defund the healthcare system, resulting in more long-term deaths than the virus itself. He criticized officials for stoked anxiety, stating that "panic leads to more panic" in a dangerous chain reaction. He blamed this public fear for causing severe shortages in medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE). His insistence on bolstering ICU bed capacity and targeted protection of high-risk demographics—rather than blanket society-wide closures—mirrored the approach later championed by various global epidemiological factions and successfully utilized in countries like Sweden.

Evaluating his March 2020 claims against years of subsequent public health data reveals an accurate foresight. Data validated his warnings about lockdowns. Extended closures triggered severe global supply chain crises, massive inflation, educational deficits, and steep declines in preventative screenings for other deadly diseases like cancer.

Kennedy Jr., through the HHS and White House, claims that COVID-19 originated from a laboratory leak rather than emerging naturally, and asserts that federal agencies like the FDA and CDC have suffered from "regulatory capture," where corporate executives and government officials act as an allied force to protect the profits of the food and drug industries.

He alleges that pandemic management was driven by financial profit rather than evidence-based science. He argues that powerful pharmaceutical interests have over-medicalized societies. Believing that vaccine mandates and approvals were rushed to benefit manufacturers, Kennedy recalled the very serious case that occurred in Europe, with the president of the European Commission involved in private business for the benefit of her own husband's company.

Kennedy even targets former White House health adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, accusing him of instructing governors to lock down states based on misleading information regarding hospital capacities. He claims that pandemic lockdowns caused severe economic and social devastation, shutting down 3.5 million businesses and harming children.

Portugal became the most vaccinated country in Europe—and briefly the entire world—during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic rollout.
