Attorney General Amadeu Guerra has had many difficulties managing a dormant prosecutor's office, entangled in strange actors, exchanges of favors, illegal investigations into Judge Ivo Rosa, the criminal invasion of the Kadoorie synagogue, and much more that is yet to be announced.
What has most bothered Guerra is the number of stalled and unfinished investigations. Yet, it's not all bad news. The Jewish Community of Porto has decided to help Amadeu Guerra identify the perpetrator of the attempted murder of Ilan Cohen and his wife on November 29, 2022. More important than capturing the perpetrator is the possible identification of his moral accomplices.
The story of the case was lightly recounted in a video produced by the Jewish Community of Porto in 2022. On November 28th, the young man signed a petition to parliament complaining about a state network who had dared to use mentally ill people to attack the Community. The following day, Cohen's car was sabotaged, the young man almost had an accident on the VCI (Porto's inner ring road), and even today the flat tire is on display in the city's Jewish museum.
In the Jewish world, justice is the key pillar of society – more important than all other pillars combined, and the Kohanim, especially those of Dgerba, always deserve special protection. Their names and concerns for justice are never forgotten.
