The Jewish Community of Porto established an agreement for the coming decades with Chabad Portugal with permission from the General Assembly. The agreement aims to strengthen Jewish life in the city for a long term and covers the central synagogue, the study center, the mikvah, the beit midrash, the education of young people, the restaurant, the shop and the cemetery, and everything related to religious life.

The Porto Jewish Community and Chabad Portugal have cooperated for fifteen years. During this time, the Community has donated €1,160,570.00 to Chabad Portugal and €4,921,932.30 to Chabad institutions worldwide, including a major contribution toward the construction of Casa Chabad in Cascais. The Jewish student center, opened in 2018 (initially at Arca de Água), was transferred to Chabad's operation in 2022, despite already maintaining a regular minyan for several years prior. The agreement later extended to the central synagogue.

In the Kadoorie synagogue, the Community is approaching eleven consecutive years of uninterrupted Shabbat and Yom Tov minyan (2015–2026), a record its board expects Chabad to maintain indefinitely, for as long as possible. It is no coincidence that the successive presidents of the Jewish Community of Porto, Sam Elijah, Dias Benzion, and Gabriel Senderowicz, have been associated for many years with Chabad Lubavitch congregations in Golders Green (UK), Kfar Saba (Israel), and Porto Alegre (Brazil), cooperating with Rabbi Mendel Liberow, Rabbi Yossi Simon, Rabbi Shneor Glitsenstein, Rabbi Schneur Zalman Keselman, Rabbi Aharon Kainevsky, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Lipkin, Rabbi Yossi Baitsh, Rabbi Mendel Kainevsky, Rabbi Elad Cohen, Rabbi Shloimy Azimov, and Rabbi Moshe Chazan.

Both organizations are global leaders in the diaspora. While Chabad is a world leader in promoting Jewish life in the diaspora outside of Israel, the Jewish Community of Porto is a world leader in promoting Jewish culture.

Chabad-Lubavitch is a global Hasidic movement. Driven by the vision of the seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of blessed memory, Chabad operates over 4,500 institutions across more than 100 countries. Young married couples (shluchim) move permanently to distant locations—often with minimal existing infrastructure—to build Jewish communities usually from scratch. They offer an open-door policy to all Jews—regardless of their level of personal observance or knowledge—fostering Jewish continuity by meeting individuals where they are.

While Chabad relies on a global web of small centers, the Jewish Community of Porto operates as a highly concentrated, single-city powerhouse that has become the world's most active organization promoting Jewish history, arts, and education. Porto has built a dense cultural footprint in a city where open Jewish life was virtually erased for centuries and after the Portuguese Dreyfus case in 1937. The community operates a state-of-the-art Jewish Museum, and the only Holocaust Museum in the region, and utilizes modern storytelling to reach millions globally.

The agreement between the Community and Chabad Lubavitch was made known to Sochnut, the heir to the Community's assets and the main stakeholder in its continued success. "Sochnut" (Hebrew for "The Agency") is the Jewish Agency for Israel, which is the largest Jewish non-profit organization in the world.

The partnership between the two - in fact three - world-leading organizations represents another concern for the woke system in Portugal.
