Jerusalem's Yad VaShem keeps a special book from the Holocaust museum in Porto

In 2021, the Holocaust Museum of Porto formally donated a Portuguese children's message book to Yad Vashem via the Israeli Embassy in Portugal. Teenagers from the north, center and south of Portugal were able to leave moving messages in that book, not only about Jews, but also about the Jewish state.

At the time, a video was made about the event that ends with moving messages from the ambassadors of the US and Russia, the two main powers that saved the Jews at WWII.

The Holocaust Museum of Porto maintains a collaborative relationship with Yad Vashem focused on Holocaust education, remembrance, and research. Both institutions share a core mission of teaching the general public and tens of thousands of school students about the history of the Shoah.

the Holocaust Museum of Porto was created in partnership with B'nai B'rith International and several other Holocaust museums around the world, including specific institutions in Jerusalem (Yad Vashem), Washington, D.C., Moscow, and Hong Kong. They partner on programs designed to fight antisemitism, preserve survivor testimonies, and counter historical denial or revisionism.
