High-ranking Judge joins Porto's Jewish Community against Socialist Network on the loose between 2021 and 2022

The Jewish Community of Porto has warned many times that what happened at the Kadoorie synagogue on March 11, 2022, will not go unpunished. Never before have a dozen police officers been seen jumping around inside the temple as if they were in their own homes. In a process conducted by the DCIAP (Central Department of Investigation and Prosecution) headed by Albano Pinto, the police officers commanded remotely by Afonso Sales, ransacked the synagogue and stole documents and digital records from inside, as well as from the Jewish museum.

The "investigation" had begun earlier within it a history of state corruption. The Socialist Party of the "Palestinian question" placed fake news in the service press (December 18, 2021), determined the end of a law (December 23, 2021), and sent that fake news to the prosecutor's office (December 28, 2021). Thus began the "inquiry" which ended up in the DCIAP of Albano Pinto. The prosecution's allegations, if they hadn't concerned something very serious, would have provoked laughter and celebrations within the Community. The corrupt fake news and some anonymous letters from the psychiatric hospital were the "signs of a crime" against that Jewish institution. Leaders were accused of corrupting register offices (which they even didn't know) and of receiving large sums of money from Patrick Drahi (whom they also didn't know). The wealthy Jewish owner of Altice, with which the socialist government was in dispute – had landed in the "inquiry" through an anonymous email.

That is how the so-called "Justice of the Portuguese Rule of Law" decided to pick a confrontation with the Jews, through a ministry and a prosecutor's office then led by the socialists Francisca Van Dunem and her colleague Lucília Gago, who in turn had chosen Albano Pinto to head the DCIAP. At that time the district attorney general of Lisbon was an individual named Orlando Romano, a close friend of Prime Minister António Costa.

How does a High-ranking Judge come about?

In those years of 2021 and 2022, it wasn't only the Jewish Community of Porto that faced the corrupt bites of the socialist system and its justice apparatus. A judge named Ivo Rosa, then stationed at the Central Criminal Investigation Court, was a victim of the same schemes and protagonists, and now he doesn't hold back his outrage, having even sent a letter to the President of the Republic, António José Seguro. Rosa is denouncing a web of interests and coalitions that, instead of honoring the public prosecutor's office, transformed it into a danger on the loose. The names he refers to are well known to the Jewish Community of Porto, specially Albano Pinto and Afonso Sales. Seven investigations were opened against Judge Ivo Rosa. Seven.

1. Inquiry 58/21.9/TELSB. This inquiry originated from an anonymous email sent to the judicial police on February 12, 2021, which was brought to the attention of the director of the DCIAP (Department of Investigation and Prosecution of Serious Crimes), Albano Pinto. Nothing in that email could be called a "report of a crime," the only way to open a criminal investigation under Portuguese law. Instead of concrete facts about the who, the where, the why, and the specific crime, the complaint basically accused the judge of being corrupt. However, against the law, Pinto ordered an inquiry to be opened and determined that it should be sent to Orlando Romano, who considered that what was reported in the anonymous message did indeed constitute suspicion of the commission of a crime, and even more so, of crimes: corruption, embezzlement, and money laundering. The inquiry was immediately forwarded to the judicial police, specifically to the criminal investigation coordinator Afonso Sales. And that's how the so-called "Justice," based on a fabricated anonymous complaint, not only placed a judge under investigation, but also investigated 98 people who had been in contact with him over the years, including several judges and members of the Superior Council of the Judiciary. The prosecutor's office illegally opened an inquiry and, not satisfied with that, illegally accessed the personal data of almost a hundred people. All this happened at a time when the socialists were in power. Minister: Van Dunem. Attorney General: Lucília Gago.

2. Inquiry 159/21.TRLSB. This inquiry began on 03/08/2021, by decision of Orlando Romano, following an opinion from Albano Pinto who wanted an inquiry opened. The object of the criminal inquiry consisted of a decision by the judge not to apply the preventive detention measure requested by the Public Prosecutor's Office in a given case. And so, because the judge disagreed with a request from the prosecution, he came under investigation for suspected denial of justice and prevarication. The prosecution illegally opened an inquiry and imputed the most serious suspicions to the person in question. All this happened at a time when the socialists were in power. Minister: Van Dunem. Attorney General: Lucília Gago.

3. Inquiry 220/22.7TRLSB. This inquiry began on 06/06/2022 by decision of Albano Pinto. History repeats itself. This time the judge Ivo Rosa declared the nullity of a decision by the Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the seizure of email. Once again, a judicial decision was at stake, objective, sober and duly justified, both in fact and in law. And so, because the judge disagreed with a request from the prosecution, he came under investigation for suspected denial of justice and prevarication. The prosecutor's office opened an investigation illegally. All this happened at a time when the socialists were in power. Minister: Van Dunem. Attorney General: Lucília Gago.

4. Inquiry 219/22.3TRLSB. This inquiry began on 13/09/2022, once again, at the initiative of Albano Pinto. The object of this criminal inquiry consisted of a decision by the judge that declared the suspension of banking operations to a specific citizen irregular. According to the Public Prosecutor's Office, because it had a different understanding regarding the powers of the investigating judge, the order in question was likely to constitute the crimes of prevarication, denial of justice, personal favoritism and abuse of power. The prosecutor's office opened an investigation illegally. All this happened at a time when the socialists were in power. Minister: Van Dunem. Attorney General: Lucília Gago.

5. Inquiry 60/22.3TRLSB. This inquiry began on March 8, 2022, by decision of Orlando Romano, and concerned a decision by the judge declaring the nullity of orders previously issued by duty judges. The judge became suspected of usurpation of functions. The prosecutor's office opened an inquiry illegally. The mere fact that the Public Prosecutor's Office disagrees with a judicial decision does not give it the right, much less the power, to criminally prosecute that judge. All this happened at a time when the socialists were in power. Minister: Van Dunem. Attorney General: Lucília Gago.

6. Inquiry No. 20/22.4TRLSB. The initiative to open this inquiry came from Albano Pinto, by order of 27/01/2022, and from Orlando Romano, imputing the practice of a crime of violation of judicial secrecy and denial of justice. The object of the inquiry was yet another decision by the judge, this time relating to the seizure of e-mail boxes. The prosecutor's office opened an inquiry illegally, as the fact that the Public Prosecutor's Office disagrees with a judicial decision does not give it the right, much less the power, to criminally prosecute the judge. All this happened at a time when the socialists were in power. Minister: Van Dunem. Attorney General: Lucília Gago.

7. Inquiry 51/22.4TRLSB. This inquiry was opened by Orlando Romano, by order of 02/03/2022, in which he accuses the judge of committing the crimes of prevarication, abuse of power and personal favoritism. What did he do? He ordered the lifting of the seizure of bank balances of a defendant. Once again, for Romano, the mere disagreement regarding the meaning of a judge's decision, or rather that specific judge Ivo Rosa, constituted sufficient grounds to order the opening of a criminal inquiry and to accuse him of committing a crime. All this happened at a time when the socialists were in power. Minister: Van Dunem. Attorney General: Lucília Gago.

8. Inquiry 110/21.0TRLSB. By order of 24/05/2021, by Albano Pinto, invoking the possibility of the practice, among other things, of a crime of passive corruption by the judge, he ordered the opening of the inquiry. The judge had applied the measure of preventive detention to a defendant, with the possibility of being replaced by house arrest. Later, in a telephone conversation between the defendant and his wife, the former referred to the judge's name and an amount of 1,000.00 Euros. It didn't make sense. The defendant was in prison. But that was enough for the prosecution to open a new inquiry against the judge on suspicion of corruption. And notwithstanding the secrecy of justice and the confidentiality regime, a national magazine immediately featured the headline "Judge Ivo Rosa under Suspicion" on its cover. Only the Public Prosecutor's Office had access to the inquiry. All this happened at a time when the socialists were in power. Minister: Van Dunem. Attorney General: Lucília Gago.
