Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar today hosted the third meeting of the J50 Forum in Jerusalem, bringing together 60 senior representatives of leading Jewish communities and organizations from dozens of countries.
The J50 Forum was established by Foreign Minister Sa’ar to strengthen cooperation and dialogue between Israel and the leadership of major Jewish communities and international Jewish organizations around the world.
The forum included presidents of Jewish communities, CEOs, chief rabbis and other senior Jewish leaders. Participants included representatives of the Conference of Presidents, Jewish Federations of North America, B’nai B’rith International, ADL, Conference of European Rabbis, Board of Deputies of British Jews, and leading Jewish organizations from Europe, North and South America, Australia and South Africa.
Discussions focused on the dramatic rise in antisemitism around the world and the connection between obsessive anti-Israel rhetoric and increasing attacks against Jewish communities.
Foreign Minister Sa’ar stressed that while a number of governments are pursuing anti-Israel policies for their own political purposes, Israel is simultaneously expanding its diplomatic relations and international cooperation, particularly in Eastern Europe and Latin America.
The meeting also addressed attempts to impose sanctions on Israel, developments in Judea and Samaria, Israel during an election period, and the situation of Christian communities in Israel. Participants will also meet Ambassador George Deek as part of discussions on Israel’s preparations for 2030.
A central objective of the third J50 Forum is to advance a joint declaration by Jewish leaders affirming that anti-Zionism is antisemitism.
Foreign Minister Sa’ar said:
“Against the global tide of antisemitism and the attempts to isolate and delegitimize Israel, the message from Jerusalem is clear: united, we are stronger. The bond between Israel and Jewish communities around the world is vital to our shared future, and we will continue working together to strengthen it.”
