On September 28th, the feature film “Golda” will premiere in Portugal, which portrays former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir in the face of the Yom Kippur War – which turns 50 in October.
Known as the "Iron Lady of Israel", Golda Meir led the country between 1969 and 1974. In October 1973, the stateswoman experienced the most dramatic moment of her government: the Yom Kippur War, when Israel was attacked by troops from Egypt and Syria on the Day of Atonement – one of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar.
