Facade of Portuguese company that operates in Israel is vandalized in Lisbon

On the morning of Tuesday, November 21st, the facade of the Steconfer company was vandalized in Lisbon. Steconfer is a Portuguese railway infrastructure company contracted to expand train lines in Jerusalem.

The act was carried out by a group linked to the Collective for the Liberation of Palestine, Climáximo and the Lisbon Student Climate Strike, which covered the exterior of the building with red paint, pasted posters with photographs of the Gaza Strip and wrote “genocidal” on a of the pillars.

On social media, the Israeli Embassy in Portugal stated:

“The tagging of companies associated with Jews is an ugly form of racism and #anti-Semitism that we remember from 80 years ago in Nazi Germany. Today, we saw a group of fanatical people try to do the same in Lisbon. Such acts have no place in democracies, nor in today's world. We say no to anti-Semitism!”
