The likely next US President declares War on the Muslim Brotherhood

"Radical Islam doesn’t want just a small caliphate in Iraq or Syria. They seek to dominate the entire West. Radical Islam is revolutionary, it wants endless expansion, terrorism, assassinations, and total control. They hate America, Europe, Israel, and every Muslim nation that partners with us. Orlando, Pensacola, and domestic attacks prove it

Secretary of State Marco Rubio made these statements on June 22. The remarks reflect his long-standing position on the nature of extremist threats, in which he has repeatedly warned that such groups seek global domination rather than localized territories.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a transnational Sunni Islamist movement that historically emphasizes pan-Islamic unity against secular influence. It seeks to join Shiites and Sunnis in nations as different as Türkiye, Qatar, Iran, Palestine, Lebanon and others. There are suspicions that it may finance some Western leaders and media groups, to defend their interests, as seen in the Qatar gate that took place in Brussels in 2022.

The US government blacklists specific regional chapters, officially designating the Muslim Brotherhood branches in Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan as terrorist organizations. In Israel, while the global Muslim Brotherhood is not explicitly banned as a single entity, its local Palestinian and Libano branches are officially designated as terrorist organizations. In India, authorities closely track the group's transnational ideological influence for national security. In Russia, the Muslim Brotherhood is designated as a terrorist organization and is explicitly outlawed. This ban was established by a ruling from the Russian Supreme Court in 2003. In China, the Brotherhood is also rejected. The Chinese state strictly monitors and suppresses all unauthorized Islamist and separatist political activities, particularly within its Muslim-majority regions.

Alongside his warnings, Marco Rubio has maintained that the U.S. must partner with allied Muslim nations and governments (such as in Egypt, Jordan, and the Gulf states) to effectively defeat these extremist ideologies.
