State leniency or even promotion of antisemitism encourage terrorist attacks against Jews, driven by impunity for hate speech, radicalization through propaganda, and official hostility.
What has been happening for years in Portugal in terms of anti-Jewish hatred can no longer be hidden, as it is too obvious.
In 2026, a Yael Foundation / Chabad Lubavitch Jewish school was linked by the press to "illegal casinos", and an Israeli Embassy project with young influencers linked to "paid trips, money and tricks".
In 2025, an attempted poisoning of Israeli Jews at a music festival was silenced by politicians and the press, while the inauguration of the Hamas embassy in Lisbon was celebrated.
In 2024, the press published a list of Israeli Jewish businessmen from Porto, who were accused of being responsible for the housing crisis, and a thousand people held signs such as "Neither Haifa nor Boavista", "neither bombs in Gaza nor evictions in Porto".
In 2023, the Kadoorie Synagogue was vandalized with "Apartheid" inscriptions, amid the silence of politicians, while the television used anonymous sources to claim that "Israelis are selling everything".
In 2022, political and media powers used police to raid and rob the Kadoorie synagogue, and there was an attempted assassination of the first signatory of a petition to parliament, carried out by a criminal agent protected by the system.
In 2021, fake news planted by the government lead to the approval of a pre-drafted government decree and the sending of that fake news to the police to "investigate" the only relevant Jewish community in the country.
In 2020, parliament debates the Sephardic Jews law, reducing its positive effects to "some tourist visits" and comparing Jewish families to the "coronavirus" because of their "exponential" reproduction.
None of this is "Rule of Law." All of this is Terrorism and incitement to hatred. A terrorist attack is more than predictable, especially targeting the only Jewish community in the country with full synagogues and museums.
The Jewish Community of Porto has often made it known that, if the institution is the target of a terrorist attack, many Portuguese elites will have to flee the country, since for years they push the whole society and its dregs against the Jews and Israel.
Benjamin Netanyahu explicitly stated twice, "I demand that Western governments do what is necessary to fight antisemitism and provide the required safety and security for Jewish communities worldwide. They would be Well-Advised to heed our Warnings. I demand action from them – Now."
