Pedro Sánchez, the Prime-Minister of Spain, has seen his name deified for affronting Israel and the Spanish Jewish community on multiple occasions, which has already earned him the label of "corrupt politician" by David Hatchwell Altaras, president of the Hispano Judia Foundation based in Madrid.
The last few months have been full of disclosures regarding very unclear and lawful deals involving his advisors, predecessor and even family and friends.Less talked about, however, has been something that is much more relevant in terms of State Corruption. Astonishing details are emerging about his rule placing loyal people in the public prosecutor's office, police, banks, media groups, and the most relevant sectors of the state in general. Apparently, these were years of socialist madness.
He uses public funds, state advertising, and regulatory oversight to influence media coverage and pack the management of prominent public-sector companies and state institutions with political allies. The appointment of a controversial Attorney General has drawn intense accusations from judges that the government is undermining the independence of the justice system. Critics have alleged political interference within the Civil Guard and the National Police.
The "petty corruption"
Scandal surrounding Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s inner circle and family include highly publicized allegations involving prostitution and the misuse of state resources. A former close advisor to Sánchez's ex-Transport Minister, José Luis Ábalos) exposed a network of kickbacks for public contracts during the pandemic, and officials involved in the scheme used illicit funds to pay for luxury parties and sex workers. A prostitute was even placed to perform official state functions.
At the same time, Sanchez's wife was charged by supposed influence peddling, embezzlement, corruption in business dealings, and misappropriation of funds, as she has used her position as the Prime Minister’s wife to secure corporate sponsorships and manage a master's degree program at Madrid's Complutense University despite lacking a formal degree. Beyond his wife, Sánchez's younger brother faces an independent judicial investigation over alleged influence peddling regarding his employment by a regional government. Minor issues, however.
A EU position for Costa
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez was a key figure in advocating for António Costa's appointment as President of the European Council. As the leader of one of Europe's major Socialist parties and a close ally, Sánchez championed Costa's candidacy during negotiations among EU leaders and helped build the necessary consensus within the Party of European Socialists to secure the role.
Sánchez used his political clout at the European level to ensure the Socialists secured one of the top EU jobs. He strongly advocated that Costa, a "respected former Prime Minister", was the "perfect fit for the role", although the world is still waiting to find out how large sums of money, hidden in wine boxes and inside books, were seized from the office of Costa's chief of staff.
Sánchez publicly praised Costa's "conciliatory profile," emphasizing his proven ability to forge consensus among diverse political factions. Both friends associated their Socialist governments with communist-based and radical-left parties through political arrangements. Sánchez formed Spain’s first nationwide coalition government with Unidas Podemos, an alliance that included the United Left and the Communist Party of Spain (PCE). In turn, Costa's Socialist government was backed by a parliamentary alliance with the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP), the Greens, and the Marxist Left Bloc.
Both Pedro Sánchez and António Costa have successfully maintained and expanded strong, cooperative relations with Latin American leaders. Thanks to Jewish science and funding, Spain and Portugal were territorial empires and maintain a privileged relationship with Latin America to this day.
Nicolás Maduro was captured and removed from Venezuela by U.S. forces in a military action known as Operation Absolute Resolve. He was indicted on and is currently facing specific criminal charges for narco-terrorism in the Southern District of New York. The operation was born from the high-profile defection and subsequent confessions of former intelligence chiefs like Gen. Manuel Ricardo Cristopher Figuera (former head of SEBIN) and Hugo Carvajal. These figures provided the U.S. with years of closely held secrets regarding the regime's illicit activities, including allegations of systemic sponsorship of socialist governments in Latin America, connections to banks in Africa and promotion of terrorism and antisemitism.
