The Chanukah party hosted by the Jewish Community of Lisbon came early this year. Last Sunday, December 15, 2024 (Kislev 14, 5785), a festive session celebrating the Festival of Lights took place at the Goethe-Institut Lisboa. The program featured activities ranging from dancing to a choir performance.

After the session, which filled the auditorium with members of Lisbon's Jewish community and immigrants residing in Portugal, attendees enjoyed traditional Chanukah treats such as latkes, sufganiyot, and beverages.

The event also included a message from the President of CIL, David Botelho, and the symbolic lighting of the eight Chanukah candles, led by Rabbi Aharon Eitan, who is temporarily substituting for Rabbi Ruben Suiza during his vacation.
