Former US President Donald Trump was the target of an assassination attempt Saturday at a Pennsylvania rally. He escaped alive with injuries to his ear. In the audience, one man died and two others were seriously injured. A barrage of gunfire set off panic, and a bloodied

“I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place,” he wrote on his social media site.

The attacker was a sniper who was on a roof 130 meters away from the rally that was taking place outdoors. People who saw the sniper crawling on the roof until he found a good shooting position shouted to the police about what they were seeing. However, there apparently were serious failures in Trump's security. The shooter was only shot after firing three shots.

Apparently, whoever saved Donald Trump was the way he successively changed his head position during his speech, as well as the luck of having felt a buzzing sound and seen blood from his ear. The candidate for the presidency of the United States had the instinct to duck and hide behind the pulpit where he was speaking and only after a few moments he was surrounded by Secret Service and hurried to his SUV as he pumped his fist in a show of defiance. Blood was clearly visible on Trump's ear and face as protection officers rushed him away.

The failure begins with a failed security area analysis. The question needs to be asked, how is there a situation where there is a roof with a direct line of sight to the place of the President's speech that does not receive a previous security response?

The man suspected of shooting at former US President Donald Trump has been named by the FBI as Thomas Matthew Crooks. He was 20 years old and from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, they said in a statement. The FBI statement added that the incident is an "active and ongoing investigation".
