Annual Jerusalem Post Conference in London with Portuguese participation

On March 31, London hosts a special conference focused on the efforts to combat antisemitism worldwide. Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews that can be actively or passively expressed against them or their institutions, property and interests. The antisemitic theories put into the same boat millions of atheists, agnostics, religious fanatics, progressives, democrats, communists and neo-Nazis.

The Jerusalem Post Annual Conference is one of the worl’s most prestigious and professional events on the Jewish people. The prestigious and traditional Gala Evening will be held at the magnificent House of Lords, the upper house of the British Parliament, located on the left bank of the River Thames.

Speakers will be key statesmen and politicians from Israel, the UK and Germany, the European Union Commissioner for the fight against anti-Semitism and for the promotion of Jewish life and culture, as well as leaders of relevant Jewish organisations.

A representative of the Jewish Community of Oporto, the only European Jewish community invited, will also be a speaker, as it has been a leader in the last decade in terms of promoting Jewish life and culture, as well as the fight against anti-Semitism.

In a way, anti-Semitism today is politically correct in the West because it attacks the power of so-called exploiters who have the so-called unfair power.

Contemporary antisemitism can be found in radical and fringe groups espousing right-wing, left-wing or Islamist extremism, it can hide behind anti-Zionism, but it can also be found in the centre of society. The Covid-19 pandemic has shown how old antisemitic prejudices can resurge and fuel new conspiracy myths and hatred online and offline. Jewish people have been unjustifiably blamed for creating the virus and for developing vaccines to make a profit.
