On September 1st, the Jewish Community of Oporto celebrated the European Day of Jewish Culture. This year's programme included visits to Kadoorie Synagogue, the largest in the Iberian Peninsula, namely areas such as the art gallery, the library andthe prayer room (including a concert performed by the Mekor Haim Choir), but also to the Holocaust Museum and the Jewish Museum of Oporto, with the screening of history films produced by the community.
The initiative was organised by the Jewish Community of Oporto in close cooperation with the European Association for the Preservation and Promotion of Jewish Culture and Heritage, B’nai B’rith Europe, the National Library of Israel and the European Jewish Association.
