Jewish Community of Oporto participates in online conference in eSefarad
On September 28, the president of the Jewish Community of Oporto, Gabriel Senderowicz, and the vice-president, Dara Jeffries, participated in the online conference "Raíces de Sefarad: La Comunidad Judía de Porto", organized by eSefarad.
At the meeting, Gabriel and Dara presented the history of the Jewish Community of Oporto, which turned 100 years old this year, covering topics such as the Rescue Work led by Captain Barros Basto, the refugees who escaped Nazism and found temporary shelter in Portugal, the renaissance of Jewish life in the last 10 years and the recent attempt to destroy this Community.
