At Millennium BCP, Israel does not appear on the list of countries of residence. But Palestine does.

It seems unbelievable, but it happened. A newly naturalized Portuguese citizen of Sephardic Jewish descent, currently visiting Portugal to conclude business matters in the country, attempted to open a bank account with Millennium BCP. He was unsuccessful.

In the nationality selection field, Israel is not listed as a valid country of residence — unlike Palestine, which appears on the list.

Whether due to oversight or error, the fact remains: the State of Israel is a sovereign, democratic, and internationally recognized country — including by the Portuguese Republic. At Millennium BCP, however, Israel does not exist. For those who enjoy cheese and suffer from selective amnesia,

Palestine is a "Permanent Observer State" at the UN, a status that allows it to participate in all of the organization’s procedures, except voting on resolutions and decisions in its main bodies, from the Security Council to the General Assembly and its six main committees.

It is not a country. And the way it is being taken over by Hamas terrorists, it never will be.
