On 23 September, the Jewish Museum of Belmonte hosted a ceremony to receive the Sefer Torah acquired by Belmonte Municipality in partnership with Belmonte Municipal Company. This Sefer Torah, which came from Jerusalem, is over 400 years old and it is one of the oldest in Portugal.
It will remain on permanent display, greatly enhancing the museum’s collection.
