The internationally acclaimed Klezmer dance leader and musician Ilana Cravitz will headline
the Taybelekh concerts taking place at Clube Fenianos, Oporto, from 20–22 November.
Project Director David Hayes said: “We are delighted to bring Ilana Cravitz to Oporto. Her presence will add extraordinary energy, engaging audiences not only through music but
also by leading traditional Klezmer dancing. Ilana has organised world tours, including six
across Australia, and began her Klezmer career at the UK’s first KlezFest in Leeds”.
The band line up has been further strengthened by the inclusion of Phil Tomlinson, a
founder member of the UK's Kleznorth.
David Hayes added: “Although the hall is large, space must be kept for dancing and for The
Righteous exhibition, which opens alongside the concerts. So my message is you want to
attend, take advantage of the discounted advance ticket price and book now."
Interest is already strong, with 10% of the initial target 100 seats being sold within a few
days of tickets going on sale before Rosh Hashanah.
