The book "Brief History of the Jews in Portugal", 6th edition, has been revised and expanded with a chapter on the Inquisition, resulting from the inquisitorial studies over the last 14 years. Coming soon to bookstores. Published by Ancora Editora.
Some histories of Portuguese Jews have already been published, all of them of a strong academic nature, but there was a lack of a comprehensive work, updated and accessible to the general public, aimed particularly at teachers and students, complementing or making up for the omissions in our school programs. Without hiding the fact that academic studies are sometimes difficult to access for non-specialized readers, we know that there is a natural appetite for knowledge. On the other hand, students, particularly university students, need initiatory approaches to get involved in historiographical themes. This is the objective of Brief History of the Jews in Portugal, which demonstrates to all readers that Portuguese Jews have a story to tell that is part of the History of Portugal itself.
