On Thursday 6 June, the members of the Committee for Interfaith Dialogue of Oporto were received at Oporto City Hall by Fernando Paulo, councillor for Social Cohesion. During their meeting they informed him of the existence of a group of representatives of all the faiths that exists in this city.
On this occasion, the participants delivered a copy of their Charter of Principles, a document setting out the principles of interfaith dialogue, signed last February in the presence of the Bishop of Oporto Dom Manuel Linda.
Present at the meeting at City Hall were representatives of the Catholic Church, the Islamic Community of Oporto, the Jewish Community of Oporto, the Society for Krishna Consciousness, the Bahai Community of Oporto and the Buddhist Union, who were able to present their beliefs to councillor Fernando Paulo and explain the functioning of this group, which meets once a month.
