Three millennia of shared history that the adversaries never managed to put down

Jewish civilization has endured for more than three millennia—outlasting ancient empires, surviving widespread dispersion, and enduring intense persecution — due to a unique combination of a strong sense of community, knowledge of history, high capacity for cultural and economic production, and a commitment to adaptation.

Confronting a civilization is generally considered wasted time or even a suicide whose effects will be felt in the future, due to the complex, entrenched nature of a people and its institutions, shared identity, and defensive mechanisms.

Unlike civilizations tied to a specific territory, Jewish identity was preserved through a shared spiritual heritage and religious law that could be practiced anywhere. This allowed for the maintenance of a unified identity across geographically scattered communities. Even today, synagogues operate in the same way and in the same language everywhere in the world, allowing a Jew from Australia to feel at home in Portugal or South Africa.

A high value on education fostered a literate population, which provided a competitive advantage in urban, economic, and intellectual fields. While retaining core identity, Jewish culture adopted local languages and customs, which allowed them to adapt to diverse environments—from Babylon to Spain and Eastern Europe. The "yearning for Zion" and the promise of a future redemption also helped maintain a collective identity, turning the longing for a return to Israel into a central, unifying, theme.

With the founding of the state of Israel, another factor became integrated into the wide range of mechanisms that allow Jewish survival. This factor is Israeli security, which the communities lacked for two thousand years and which they now have.

As the haters always used and use the same techniques everywhere and all ages, and as the persecutions were always uninterrupted, the causes, methods, and results are studied in advance and the way of acting becomes a standard. It facilitated the existence of a worldwide body to protect the communities and monitor their mortal adversaries from the very moment they start thinking about acting.

In the 21st century the Jewish community's defense mechanisms come from so many world latitudes at once that at a certain point no one knows who is leading the defense action, what are the objectives and timings of political chess, what will happen, and when.
