How did the political system destroy the Porto synagogue and community in 1937? The game was simple, using anonymous denunciations from the dregs of society, portraying the community in the corrupt press as a den of Bolsheviks, publicly proclaiming that Barros Basto was a mere pantheist who had nothing to do with Judaism. This created the social environment to kill the community, as all it took was investing in the Dreyfus affair. Captain Barros Basto was left unemployed and without the strength to continue working to rescue Jewish life. He spent the rest of his life receiving visits from the political police at his home. A thriving synagogue and community were transformed into a mere closed museum covered in moss. The photograph of the synagogue taken at the beginning of the 21st century says it all.
The same murderous political scheme was attempted against the community starting in 2020. However, something different happened this time. The community's response was to call the entire power system corrupt and prepare to cut its throat if necessary. Jews were already living in Portugal in 1143. Portuguese Jews weren't born with communists and socialists in 1974. These latter groups didn't create any empire, but rather the greatest social and moral misery. They understand nothing of the game of empires, they are crushed between realities they don't understand, and they even no longer distinguish between a man and a woman.
The foundational principles of Creation, as described in the Sefer Yetsirah, are translated into Portuguese expressions such as “a lie has short legs” or “truth will prevail over falsehood.” The word "Emet" (truth) stands firm, written with stable, two-legged Hebrew letters, symbolizing its inherent stability and existence. In contrast, "Sheker" (lie) is composed of unstable, one-legged letters, requiring constant balance and maintenance, often leading to obsessive insistence, theatricality, and the emotional turmoil of hatred and loss of credibility. The word “Matarah” (intention) reveals the ultimate outcome and on whom final judgment will be served, often with unexpected and dramatic revelations.
