Pogrom in Amsterdam: Israeli Jews are attacked in the streets of the Dutch capital

On the eve of the 86th anniversary of Kristallnacht, Israeli citizens who were in Amsterdam to watch a football game were violently attacked by a pro-Palestinian group — using physical assault, knives, and even vehicles.

The lynching occurred following the game between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax Amsterdam, when hundreds of Israeli fans were ambushed and beaten.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will send rescue planes to Amsterdam. Following guidance from the Israeli National Security Council, Israelis in the city are advised to stay in their accommodations and avoid wearing symbols that identify them as Jewish.

IDF International Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani stated: "The targeted attacks against Jews and Israelis in Amsterdam tonight, are horrific and barbaric. The images of the violence toward Jewish people in Europe are a painful reminder of our history. The IDF has an historic duty of protecting our people, wherever they are. We are preparing to deploy a mission to rescue Israelis from Amsterdam".

So far, ten people have been reported hospitalized, and three are missing. A Dutch police spokesperson reported that 57 people have been arrested.
