On the evening of April 29, the Jewish Community of Oporto marks Yom HaZikaron with a moving ceremony at the Holocaust Museum of Oporto, in tribute to fallen Israeli soldiers and victims of terrorism.
During the event, youth from the Hatzofim movement (Hebrew scouts movement in Israel) read the names of some of the victims of the October 7th massacre, making the moment especially emotional.
Remembrance ceremonies in Israel and in diaspora communities will continue until tonight, at which point celebrations for Yom HaAtzmaut - Israel's Independence Day - will begin.
