On November 24th, a tribute ceremony was held at the Shaaré Tikva synagogue for José Oulman Carp (Z.L), former president of the Jewish Community of Lisbon.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson and his wife, Chaya Mushka, disembarked from the ship in Staten Island, New York, with hundreds of other refugees from Nazi-occupied Europe.
According to the Israel Allies Foundation, this is the organization’s 54th pro-Israel parliamentary caucus worldwide.
The book will be launched on November 27 at the National Library of Portugal.
