The Jewish Community of Oporto produced a series of documentaries about Jewish history in Portugal.

To mark the choir’s fifth anniversary, we spoke with Dr. Yonah Yaphe. His dedication is one of the main pillars of this artistic initiative, which uses music to celebrate identity and memory.

Co-founded by two community members, the Mekor Haim Choir has a repertoire of 30 songs in Ladino, Yiddish, German and Hebrew.

This week, New York hosted the 42nd International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries, considered the largest Jewish rabbinical gathering in the world.

The concert at the Holocaust Museum will feature songs in Ladino and Yiddish, performed together by Taybelekh and the Mekor Haim Choir.

The library is located inside the Kadoorie Mekor Haim Synagogue and brings together tens of thousands of publications, in 13 different languages.
