Who robbed the home of the former director of SIRESP and stole her computers?

On March 29, 2022, Sandra Perdigão Neves's house was robbed at night by professional thieves who didn't want money or gold, but rather Perdigão's computers, which were stolen during the criminal operation.

Perdigão Neves had ceased being the director of SIRESP seven days earlier. On March 22, she was dismissed from her position by the socialist government. Minister Van Dunem was responsible for making this decision. A career prosecutor, Dunem had been the Minister of Justice for years and, for a few months, also held the portfolio of the Ministry of Internal Administration. It was during this time that the computer theft occurred.

The outcome of this case was never known. The Attorney General's Office remains silent. Society remains unsure whether the professional burglars loved computers so much that they risked robbing a guarded house to steal two aging devices, or whether a political mafia orchestrated the robbery to achieve politically motivated goals.

Sandra Perdigão Neves wasn't always the director of SIRESP. Before that, she was the operations director at the Altice company. In 2016, she proclaimed in the mainstream press that "at Altice we are different, we take risks and we win!" It was in this context that Altice began overseeing SIRESP.

In 2017, the PS government clashed with SIRESP and began seeking to replace the company with competitors. Each passing year brought news about potential interested parties in SIRESP, especially Motorola and NOS.

The year 2022 was fertile ground for news about SIRESP. In March, Perdigão was dismissed from her position and was later visited at night by thieves who stole her computers. In June, the government launched an International Public Tender to provide services to SIRESP. In July, Perdigão publicly proclaimed that the International Tender was "a shady scheme that did not respect the rules of competition and represented a direct award to Motorola." At the same time, she blamed "the former Deputy Secretary of State for Internal Administration, Antero Luís, for not having drafted the legislation in time to proceed with the appropriate procedure." Currently a judge, Antero Luís was previously the deputy director of the Security Information Service, appointed by the same government.

Other events that occurred in 2022 heightened suspicions about what happened. On March 11, the Porto synagogue was raided by the police, who were looking for documents relating to the Sephardic origins of Patrick Drahi, the owner of Altice. Never before had a synagogue been raided in Europe since World War II. The local Jewish community did not know Drahi and quickly protested that those searches were completely illegal and that "the Workers' Party government would pay dearly for this suicidal audacity based on the most blatant state corruption." The case was reported to the Mossad.

The criminal investigation targeting Drahi and other rich Jews had been opened on January 11, at the express and documented request of Van Dunem's office. The following day, January 12, the office of Mônica Teixeira Gomes, who was the community's lawyer for immigration law, was robbed in the early morning. The doors were armored. The thieves stole only one item: the server with access to all the office information and its clients.

The robberies did not stop. Also in 2022, on June 19, the lawyer-notary Isabel Almeida, who did "translation certifications" for that office, also had her house robbed. This time, the thieves stole nothing. Her computers were not there at the time of the professional robbery.

The question remains: Who robbed Sandra Perdigão Neves' house and stole her computers, and why?
