Much has been said about Kushner and Ivanka's performance in defending the Jews. Less has been said about D.G. Vance's central role. His chief of staff, Jacob Reses, is a Jew whose religious and cultural work on behalf of the Jewish people and the U.S. has always been very significant.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s relationship with the Jewish community is characterized by strong support to the people of Israel. Leaders in the Western Wall Heritage Foundation have publicly offered prayers for his success, calling Vance a great friend of the Jewish people.
Vance has stated that antisemitism must be prosecuted and has introduced legislation to remove federal funding from universities that fail to handle anti-Israel encampments. Following a vehicle-ramming attack on Temple Israel in Michigan, Vance offered prayers and support to the community, stating that "when something happens to any member of our American family, and this particular incident happened to Jewish members of our American family, it is something that all of us have to stand up and say, 'It's disgusting, it's unacceptable and we're not going to tolerate it in the United States of America'".
