It was with profound consternation that the International Observatory for Human Rights (OIDH) received the disturbing news of the barbaric, horrific, and abominable attack perpetrated by terrorists in Australia, resulting in numerous fatalities as well as many injured, including children.
This savage and atrocious act of violence, born of murderous hatred against Jews and an affront to human dignity, is a consequence of the antisemitism that is rapidly spreading across different parts of the planet, evoking the darkest periods in human history and the horrors of the Holocaust.
At this moment of immense pain, on this somber day for Humanity, this International Human Rights Organization—the OIDH, with its unique characteristics worldwide—expresses its unconditional fraternal solidarity and its most sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to all Jewish communities throughout the world, to the Australian authorities, and to the authorities of Israel.
The International Observatory for Human Rights (OIDH) stands united and in full solidarity with all authorities in every country around the globe that are firmly committed to combating antisemitism.
Antisemitism constitutes an attack on the shared values of Humanity; therefore, it has no place in democratic societies, in any country that upholds human dignity, or anywhere in the world. It must be confronted with unwavering determination to prevent further “shocking and distressing” tragedies such as those that have just occurred at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia.
