TAP Air Portugal announced this week the launch of a new direct flight between Oporto and Tel Aviv, one of the key highlights of its strategic plan for Northern Portugal. The new route will begin operations in July and will operate four times per week.

The new Oporto–Tel Aviv service is part of a broader set of measures that reaffirm the airline’s commitment to the north of the country, strengthening operations from Oporto and expanding international connectivity options for passengers and businesses in the region.

During the presentation of the new routes and TAP’s investments in Oporto, held at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, TAP Air Portugal CEO Luís Rodrigues stated: “This is a new moment for TAP and for Northern Portugal. We are strengthening our intercontinental operations and investing in critical infrastructure, ensuring more options for our customers and more opportunities for the regional economy. TAP is more committed to the North than ever before.”

The initiative is also supported by ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal. The company’s CEO, Thierry Ligonnière, commented: “The signing of this memorandum with TAP Air Portugal reflects our shared commitment to the North and to the future of Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, strengthening Porto’s connection to the world and investing in the country’s aircraft maintenance capabilities. ANA | VINCI Airports will continue to focus on service quality, which has distinguished the airport, and on structural investments, such as the runway renovation project valued at more than €50 million, preparing the airport and its customers for a future of greater connectivity and growth.”
