Lisbon Hosts “Anne Frank – The Musical” from March 19 to 21

The fourth season of “Anne Frank – The Musical” has toured several Portuguese cities during the first quarter of 2026, bringing audiences a moving interpretation of the young girl whose diary has touched generations around the world. After performances in Póvoa de Varzim, Leiria, Porto, Amarante and Vila Nova de Cerveira, the production now arrives in Lisbon, with shows scheduled from March 19 to 21 at the Teatro Tivoli BBVA.

The production offers a unique perspective on the story of Anne Frank, the young Jewish girl who became a symbol of hope and resilience during one of the darkest periods in human history. The play invites the audience to reflect: were there still open windows when the world seemed so closed? And is that reality really so distant from the times we live in today?

With a team of around 30 professionals from different technical areas, the musical features 18 actors on stage and unfolds across 20 musical scenes, accompanied by 10 original songs. The scenography also plays a central role in the experience, dynamically recreating the Secret Annex in Amsterdam (now a museum) where Anne Frank lived in hiding for more than two years during World War II.

The production aims not only to tell the well-known story behind the diary, but also to move and engage audiences through music, performance and the intense atmosphere created on stage.

Tickets for the Lisbon performances range from €18 to €26.
